PC Selec-Call SELECTIVE CALLING SYSTEM FOR LTR TRUNKING

PC SELEC-CALL is a software and hardware package that allows an IBM PC or compatible computer to provide selective call/ANI operation on any LTR trunking system when the computer is interfaced with a JOHNSON LTR 8605, 8615, 8655 control station radio. Interfacing the computer to the radio consists of plugging the computer’s RS-232 serial port into the radio’s microphone connector through an interface box supplied with the PC SELEC-CALL software. No modifications are needed in the radio or the computer. No additional hardware or software is needed in the mobile, so any LTR radio can be used as a mobile.

Each individual mobile ID code is assigned a UNIT NUMBER and each group mobile ID code is assigned a GROUP NUMBER. Unit and group numbers can be up to 5 characters long, and can be numeric, alphanumeric, or a combination thereof. An alphanumeric name, up to 11 characters long, can be assigned to each trunking system.

Any mobile, or group of mobiles, can be selectively called by entering the UNIT NUM-BER, or GROUP NUMBER, from the computer keyboard, or selecting it from a pop-up window. An ALL-CALL code can also be selected by pressing a two-key sequence on the keyboard.

When a mobile transmits, the UNIT NUMBER of the transmitting mobile, the time that the call was received, and the trunking system through which the call came, are displayed on the computer’s screen.

FEATURES:

  • The control station radio is programmed with BLOCK ENCODE/DECODE (consecutive LTR codes) so up to 250 LTR codes can be encoded/decoded for EACH system programmed into the radio.
  • The control station transmitter can be keyed from the computer keyboard.
  • The system software lets the dispatcher see each received call displayed with vehicle numbers, names, or fleet names programmed to correspond to each LTR ID CODE.
  • The encode ID can be set to automatically track incoming calls. This eliminates the dispatcher having to manually enter each unit number when responding to an incoming call.
  • The control station radio can be locked to a specific ID so that only that unit will be heard and displayed.
  • The last 9 calls received are displayed.
  • Each call received is displayed and each call answered is tagged. This allows the dispatcher to attend to other duties and still know which calls have been answered.
  • A printer can be used if a permanent record of each call is needed. The information recorded includes the details displayed on the screen pertaining to each call, as well as a date stamp. This information can be saved on disk, rather than a printout, if desired.
  •  Any ID can be designated as a normal ID, PRIORITY ID, or EMERGENCY ID. When a PRIORITY or EMERGENCY ID is received, the computer will beep to inform the dispatcher.
